Ingredients
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of warm water
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add the vegetable oil to the mixture and mix until crumbly.
Slowly add warm water, a little at a time, until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one out into a thin circle.
Cut each rolled-out dough into circles using a round cutter or the top of a glass.
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
Carefully drop the dough circles into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side dish.
Notes
To keep the saucers crispy, serve them right after frying or place them on a cooling rack instead of stacking them.
